Bank of Thailand Boosts Mobile Security with New Transfer Limits
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sounds like tightening the rules they tried to introduce a while ago. Facial recognition for transfer over 50k. I have accounts at Bangkok Bank, Kbank and SCB. Kasikorn has changed nothing. SCB was unable to set up facial recognition for foreigners. Got a waiver. BKB set up facial recognition and it's a mess. Unreliable to the max. I have given up using them for larger transfers. Paid my car with a single transfer about 700k from SCB last May. Please do not force that for the other banks. What is elderly? I am 67.- 136 replies

Do you bother to copy and paste urls?
KhunBENQ replied to josephbloggs's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Other sites have started to show a "really want to leave the site bla bla" warning that you have to confirm. Better than what is done here. Net nanny for the incompetent. Lock your children in the house as the world outside is so dangerous. A complete perversion of the initial ideas of www. Sir Tim won't be happy. -
And why do you think does southern US down to Florida experience freezing temperatures by the occasional blizzards coming down south? Because there is no barrier that protects. Florida is on no altitude and about same latitude as Chiang Mai.

French Graphic Designer Reports Theft of Expensive Camera in Pattaya
KhunBENQ replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
If it's not stolen while working you might experience a burglary some days later. Got this from a Pattaya resident. -
Heaven thanks for the Himalayas 😁 Otherwise the terrible cold could make it far south. Tibet at -22 C (-7 F).

Today it's not "cold" at >both< places. Chiang Mai city is one or two °C higher than most of Isaan. We had a first cold wave but now relaxed. People come to experience cold temperatures on the mountains and not in a city. Medium range forecast for CM shows not less than 16 C in the morning, max up to 28 C. No cool.

Fatal Collision Between Car and Passenger Bus in Chaiyaphum
KhunBENQ replied to Georgealbert's topic in Isaan News
From the article this could be the U turn near the accident. Looking direction south to Chaiyaphum two lanes. U turn to the two lanes northbound. -
Fatal Collision Between Car and Passenger Bus in Chaiyaphum
KhunBENQ replied to Georgealbert's topic in Isaan News
Quite sure. It's a divided highway! Kaeng Khro to Chaiyaphum, I know this very well. Car travelled against traffic along the shoulder. Coming close to the U turn point he crosses the oncoming lanes. Saves the long way driving in correct direction to a far away U turn. Daily practice by motorbikes, less frequent by 4 wheelers. Otherwise he would have flown/crashed over the central divider. No mention of that. -
Youtube still works:

It's (still) above a bus station, upper floor, no elevator Handicapped? Ring the bell. Since more than a year a new building in the north looks ready to move in. When will they move? "Soon"

Found this, it's not a bug but a feature. Terrible!

Some don't get the joke. And 6:30 AM is a civilized time in a rural village to start the noise. Be it from the village head, be it from the temple, be it from a wedding party, ... At this time of year there is peak season for family events. We have invitations for three wedding parties.

Seems like. Unique? 20 min in/out stamped for retirement extension with proper documents. Unique? Tea money is everythere though KK has tightened.
-
And you just experience the prelude for the NYE party madness with complete traffic gridlock.
-
Sounds like a report from upcountry village 😁

New year traffic chaos hits Ayutthaya roads
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
Once but never again will I mix in to that chaos. A good 12 hours to Pattaya 560 km. I study the holiday/ long weekend calendar carefully and don't fall for the idea that on the 2nd day traffic will not be that bad😖 -
Whatever happened to the "Secrets Forum" from years ago...
KhunBENQ replied to cranki's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Quite likely the email address I used there had been leaked or intentionally registered at most terrible porn sites. Got hundreds of spam mails and had to give up the address. -
Whatever happened to the "Secrets Forum" from years ago...

I was there for some years. Larry even promoted me to upper level. But that morning when the German language part had been removed with complete loss of ALL content there (big scandal about underage talk) the downturn started. Can't remember when it was finally dead. The hotel/bar business seem to have closed also. Larry is "retired" as he said in some YouTube video. -
Bypassing passport control
KhunBENQ replied to 10years's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good for YOU (and me). But you think the endless stream of complaints and frustration with the system are fabricated ?? I have a mate whom I tried to help with no success. He repeatedly asked at the immi office what is wrong. No clue at all. "It's Bangkok problem" was about all he got. -
Extremely common, easy to fix motorbikes 125cc+
KhunBENQ replied to Everyman's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
I assume you refer to scooters (automatic)? There is little concern about repair mechanical / motor stuff. As above: any Honda. Granddaughter has a 160ccm Honda PCX(?). If possible I would avoid electronic gadget stuff like keyless. Where do you live that you are concerned about repair? Granddaughters Honda 160ccm: Tubeless tires seem to be the norm for bigger ones.
