  1. Would expect less than usual. 13 is the START of the official holidays ending 16 with a substitute for 13.
  2. Going 5 hours before departure makes sense. But the drive?
  3. Oops Just noticed that the thread is from last year 🤣
  4. Mate died 25. last month. His FB is still "alive". The widow probably has NO access and not try with FB to officially close it.
  5. The (old?) brown logbook (with registration number). BTW: FAKE red plates seem to be a hot topic. My Toyota dealer simply had none left so I drove without plates for more than 2 months(!). That's the reality.
  6. I worked through some up-to-date websites and the rules haven't changed. Max 30 days, no later than 8 PM Out of province have to be logged. But it seems that the logbooks can simply be purchased at shops. Color may vary. Seems the good old brown logbook has been abolished?
  7. In 2011 that was standard. Has it changed?
  8. The brown logbook that comes with the red plate. And yes you can drive. Thais don't give a s... and drive anytime anywhere. Chance of being checked? 0.01% ? Or has anyone experienced. I drove 560 km down to Pattaya WITHOUT number plate passing two checkpoints. If I wouldn't have used M7 where I was stopped by highway police I could have gone without anything.
  9. Just tried the logon on the PC. (https://wise.com/login) Worked but for some reason they wanted confirmation via the app which I did. Then they write it's a "new device" and I have to confirm in the email they sent me. I did and now can logon without confirmation as I desire. It was by no way a new device, no VPN used... ? Used Windows 10 and Chrome. I have no other suggestion than already mentioned. Use another browser, check any addons in the browser, "safety"/"security" SW that often makes more harm than good. Try the "anonymous"/"private" features of the browser (no cookies read/set).
  10. The company operates three go-kart tracks. One of them in Pattaya (well known). Thread is in Pattaya so why wonder. Up here can't remember having seen.
  11. Multiple orange vests in the pictures. Pattayas finest.
  12. Just seen that the 16th seems an extra holiday. Might ease the situation a bit.
  13. 2,1,9,7 I would avoid that. Don't go with the flow towards north of Bangkok. HW 2 and 1 are THE absolute bottleneck to the end of Songkran towards Bangkok. Even on normal days HW1 is always crowded. I drove HW 304 last July towards Chachoengsao and can't remember big trouble with construction. On the other hand don't expect traffic around Chacheongsao be easy. Always quite busy. Particularly HW 314 towards M7. But as it is a holiday at least no school/office traffic etc. I assume less risky than HW 2 and 1.
  14. Same in our area. Long over. It's planting season. Even before much less burning than years ago. They now collect straw in masses and sell it to somewhere. Less burning of sugar cane too.
  15. Nuad is only found in Thai script and simply meaning massage. Signs for foreigners show massage. It's not rocket science to distinguish between traditional/legit shops and the little brothels covered as massage.
  16. Need some phantasy to find profitable routes. Bangkok is about 220 km (136 miles). Even Udon and Khon Kaen don't offer much aside the x-times Bangkok flights. The tourist routes to Phuket or Chiang Mai might not even be all year.
  17. Will you report what the problem with Bangkok Bank was? The travelling times are outrageous. Normally I expect them to make 60 km/h on average.
  18. Other country rules for buses: Full technical inspection every year. Dedicated break inspection every three months(!). Try to enforce this in Thailand.
  19. Horrific. Don't lend money! It you did anyway and repayment fails write it off. Don't get excited.
  20. With the usual concern about the airline deny boarding with a return ticket after 30 days. It happens.
  21. Less on average per day than rest of the year. What can happen in four lane gridlocks. Average speed less than 20 km/h. Maybe chocking to death from exhaust fumes.
  22. As I wrote earlier. But some posters found it funny or worth nitpicking. Reports say that this biomass fueled backup wasn't even designed to supply full power needs but working "in parallel" to the grid.
  23. Brilliant. Hold off... For now... A mate with family has booked a stay in May for more than 30 days relying on the 60 day stay. Safe way get a tourist visa. And then? Next day they will cancel the idea?
  24. Just came upon a clip where a guy claims that the Diesel generators for the backup had been replaced by "net zero compliant" biomass fueled generators and completely failed. If it's true...
