  1. Bumping my thread to round up. I got the car/keys on May 12th, 2024 (new car, Toyota dealer, fully paid). Red plates? -> No, you should have "ordered". ? Super service. So driving off with the car and no plates. I had a compulsory insurance (original insurance policy) with no name/plate number, just VIN. Coverage with class 1 insurance? Unclear to me, found a copy of an insurance in the name of the dealer. Dealer assured me that the car is covered. I am not a great believer... Driving about 1000 km "locally". One stop at a checkpoint. Showing driving license and waved on. On July 17th driving to Pattaya (>500 km). One checkpoint stop, lowering window, waved on (showing nothing). Then about 20 km before Pattaya: stopped by highway police on motorway 7. Asking why I have no plate. Explaining the situation, showing the documents I had. Friendly salute and waved on. Back home and on August 1st (!) got plates, book and class 1 insurance in my name covering since May 12th. So all the time the car was covered by class 1 insurance. Car is registered in my name in Thai script from the yellow book/pink card. The registration date is July 9th! The timing will still remain a "mystery" to me. E.g. why could the dealer not provide me immediately after July 9th?
  2. Just tried it on the translate website (PC) and it looks OK. Used four lines and got four lines in Thai. Do you refer to the app? To show a screenshot the thread would have to be moved to Thai language. You copy/paste into the "English" text field? From what program/app do you copy? I assume it's more a problem of the copy source not having proper paragraph separators?
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 49 seconds
  4. I just completed this quiz. My Score 83/100 My Time 74 seconds I bet many stumbled upon the single entry tourist visa question like me 😊
  5. Maybe find more here?: https://aseannow.com/topic/1334345-90-day-report-must-be-in-person-after-each-re-entry
  6. EUR USD GBP... all falling sharply during the last few days. So seemingly a strengthening THB. Who has an idea what's behind?
  7. EUR 38.02 at TT 37.71 at Kbank USD big notes 35.28 at TT 35.16 at Kbank So Dollar is not that bad.
  8. You can bet. As if there is a shortage of exchange booths in Pattaya. 2/3 have terrible extorting rates. Still working as a trap for the newbie/naive.
  9. What causes traffic chaos in Soi Buakhao? Bumper to bumper creeping empty Baht buses and food cart vendors "parking" or pushing their carts on narrow roads. On one side I understand that everyone is fighting to make a Baht but this is simply too much and out of order.
  10. Wish that others would watch the video like you do. 1) The Baht bus (bb) didn't speed! 2) the bb did not break nor accelerate. Not speeding away/fleeing. 3) seems the Chinese had no idea that he had to ring a bell. Maybe panicked that the bus didn't stop. 4) tried to simply jump off the driving bb. This was intentional. In this case I believe the driver didn't notice.
  11. Read his own thread! Maybe I am on his ignore list. Serious issue here but not with banking. I am out here.
  12. Are you serious? You start another thread on this??? You wrote that all is fine? https://aseannow.com/topic/1331852-kasikorn-bank/

    Sidegra

At most pharmacies on Soi Buakhao. Expect to pay more than the official price.
  14. After 16 years I think we should come over it. Soi 7 has changed quite a lot over 1.5 decades 🤣 Two Kuwaitis fighting over a girlfriend at Yensabai. That's today's reality.
  15. Guess you refer to Best Supermarket. Moved up on Naklua road.
  16. By passport yes, but Laos people and upper Isan is so close in culture and language. Can usually communicate with little effort. Udon Thani is full with Lao people from border regions coming for shopping, medical etc.
  17. Lucky escape for oncoming traffic. Sporty pace for a cement truck. Oh I forgot, brake failure.
  18. Your correcting your false statement from above. No idea what your post is intended to say.
  19. The idiots that are responsible for the road construction/safety should be held responsible too. A small unlit STOP sign is all I see saying I have to give way. Biggest possible signs should be there and be illuminated. Flashing lights too.
  20. So I was in error! Yes you see a small STOP sign on the right. By theory/law the car driver should have slowed down and stop. So much about the theory. I often stood there with other bikes/scooters waiting for railway road traffic to stop. Anxiously crossing with extreme care.
  21. 1) way of right is from the left (see traffic law) 2) the car is on the railway road. I drove there a couple of times and never seen that crossing traffic claims right of way. Crazy dangerous traffic in the daytime (if not clogged) 3) every motorbike rider with a gram of brain would not approach and try to cross this intersection with that speed
