Brits, now hear this...

Gentlemen, I see no reason to withhold the words of wisdom received by my trusted Romanian Gypsy Clairvoyant with regard to "Brexit".

I quote:

" After 5 years of excrutiating negotiations, the Brits and the EU will find that the "Brexit" produces nothing but nagative effects for the Brits as well as the EU.
In the end, Britain will be granted the status of a "privileged guest member" of the EU, eqipped with the right to cap immigration. Everybody happy. Nobody will have "lost face".

The headlines will read: "A triumph of diplomacy/ Reason has prevailed over irrationality, England is an island, but much closer to Europe than Jamaica" etc, etc. BTW: Will also be good for the £ as far as exchange rates are concerned.

All this according to my trusted Romanian Gypsy Clairvoyant. Never would I question her wisdom, after all, she was the one that told me years ago "If you go to live in Thailand, you must be very careful". Best advice I ever got, but in hindsight I wish she would have been somewhat more specific.

- On a personal note: It gives me a quantum of solace, knowing that the UK is still a member of NATO, capable of building impressive Aircraft-Carriers, as opposed to other seafaring european nations content of merely building Frigates, destined to patrol the coast of Lybia.

To make shure: By "Frigates" I mean sea-going vessels, not referring to elderly caucasian women.
Cheers.

capable of building impressive Aircraft-Carriers,

Sure. Pity that carriers are now just a big target and obsolete, except against small poorly armed countries like Libya.

They don't build Harriers anymore ( since 2003 ), and the F35, while a technological wonder is probably a piece of overpriced junk, if they ever manage to sort the problems, so what exactly are they going to use it for anyway?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-35_Lightning_II

By 2014, the program was "$163 billion over budget [and] seven years behind schedule".[18] Critics also contend that the program's high sunk costs and political momentum make it "too big to kill".[19]

Far better to have built more marine carriers that can be used for disaster relief, as in a real war the HMS QE will probably be hiding somewhere.

Anyway, the navy can't recruit enough sailors to man the new carriers.

Retired sailors up to the age of 55 will be allowed to apply to fill a vast array of positions on HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales, though the Sunday Express can reveal that a 58-year-old has been asked to extend his service by five years.

It comes just weeks after defence secretary Sir Michael Fallon proclaimed 2017 as “the year of the Navy” and follows difficulties in recruiting Naval reservists for year-long postings.

That's what happens when the navy treats the sailors they do have like s*** and doesn't pay them enough.

I wasn't in the navy, but I left the military for that reason.

Euro types, Hear this.......... We're leaving ! Adios motherforkers

Well the "Swissies" never have joined the club. So they don't have to dwell over "leaving or not leaving".
The Brits wanting to leave. Leave where to? (Economically).

Leaving phisically? If 65 million Brits would re-settle in Thailand, it would benefit Thailand greatly.
- A massive influx of technological know-how.
- English would be the second language of the country (like in the Philippines).
- Last but not least: On every street corner, some decent Fish & Chips could be had.

As somebody already mentioned, "Swissie is on a roll". Yes, and I am loving every minute of it. I am tempted to pick up the phone and talk to Theresa concerning all of the above.:partytime2:
Cheers.

I expect they will get our share of the next Eurofighter, and we will have a choice of American or Chinese.

One can be forgiven for thinking that Britain never started the industrial revolution, never had a decent rail system, never had a navy that ruled the ocean blue, never ruled half the world, never had an empire on which the sun never sank, never had a decent army, never had a decent BBC service, never had a decent NHS, never built aircraft, or cars, never built anything worth a damn.

How the mighty have fallen.

Don't bother. May has proven herself to be the lamest of all lame ducks there ever were. Sooner out the better.

You are fortunate not to have joined the club, but living under the Swiss flag must be a big plus.

A most eloquent op,i must congratulate Swissie,of his wonderful use of the English language.

being English myself i think the English and Welsh who voted to leave were mislead by both the Media<and Politicians[no surprise there],only now are the true  concequences coming to light, and everything seems to have an aspect of doom hanging over,Trade,The city, customs union, disruption of literally millions of lives of EU citizens living in the Uk or people from the Uk living in the Eu,if they had any idea they would scrap it,or go for the softest deal possible, but with May seemingly trying to forge some Buddica[bodacia] / Maggie Thatcher cross, and lunatics like Jacob Rees-Mogg, and Boris Johnson on the loose, one see's small hope of this ,a supine for the most Labour party, and a payed for ally, look out next time you see May she will start to resemble a cyberman[ or woman ].

The boat is rushing toward the rapids, then waterfall, yet no one seems to know what to do.

so no one made their own thoughts to vote leave, they were all mislead by the leave campaign/media.

the problem with the leave vote was that our dumb politicians and that t*at camaron, never thought it would happen, so never had plans, other than to skip the country.

We were mislead by the join campaign. No one told is it was a political union. We were told it was a Common Market.

Didn't Switzerland have a referendum about joining the EU? Voted Non/Nein?

There was, years ago. It was a thight vote but it was a "no".

These days, only about 25 % of voters would favour an EU membership.
Cheers.
