I have a Thai partner we have been together for 3 years and are getting married in August. By the end of this year we want to be living together in London.

How much money does he need to have in his bank for the British Embassy to be happy? And, as i will be his sponsor does any one know how much i need in my bank?

Thanks for any help

I presume your spouse-to-be will be applying for a settlement visa once you've married? If so, you need to demonstrate:-

1. You're married;

2. You've met;

3. There exists adequate accommodation for the 2 parties without claiming certain benefits;

4. There exists adequate financial support for the 2 parties without claiming certain benefits;

5. The 2 parties intend to live together permanently.

There is no requirement to have X amount in the bank. Generally speaking, being in employment, or having an offer of employment, will be sufficient to attain the required standard.

Scouse.
