The Government a while ago said if you had a car camera installed,

insurance companies would give you a 10-15 % discount on your

premium, so went to renew my premium,I said I have car camera,

so you will give me 15% off, Oh! no the most we can give is 5%,

bloody governments you cannot believe a word they say especially

when it involves other peoples money, anyone managed to get the

promised 15 % ?

My gf called the insurance (a large one), and they said that if I bring the invoice when I renew the insurance next time, they'll deduct that amount from the premium... Let's see, it'll be in November

Well I was just told by Toyota in Korat ( have finance & First class Ins. with them on new vehicle ), that I would only get

1 %. So I did question him on that saying " I thought it was more like 5% "

Maybe they didn't want to do it as it was the free 1 yr insurance on the new car

He also said that if you do have one & claim the discount, but are unable to produce the video of the incident concerning the front camera, you will not be covered

That was my understanding from our agent yesterday and, I can't disagree. Sod's Law says that at the point you need to make a claim your dashcam has not recorded the incident. If we had accepted the discount on my wif's Suzi SX 4  renewal it would have made a difference of ThB 640 for the year so I rejected it,

Same here....5%. Got one of those lovely sexy ones and all. The monitor is an extra large rear view mirror, with front and rear camera display therein....fantastic bit of gear and only 1200 Bt. But at least the 500 discount covered it's installation.

P.S. Just tried to attach a photo of it but can't. It was easy to do before?

Same here geordie,5% was what I was given also.....and I had to send a couple of pics off as proof it was fitted

Me too!  5% reduction with pics of cam working inside the car and one showing the cam and number plate together.

Yes, 5% off is the compulsory discount. They can request proof, but I don't think 'no cover if it was not working' is allowed.

And of course you don't get 5% if you have free insurance. Anybody getting a higher discount should consider himself lucky.

When you post, click on 'choose files' (that will take you somewhere on your computer) choose and highlight the pic, click on Open, wait for it load (you will see the image on your screen) and then click on it (Uploaded Images) and it will put the pic in your text box. Just make sure the flashing cursor is in the place where you want the pic to go (preceeding any text or after any text). And then Submit Reply.   HTH
