webfact Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Fire breaks out at Koh Tao garbage dump By The Nation A fire broke out at a 40,000-tonne garbage dump in Tambon Koh Tao of Surat Thani’s Koh Pha-ngan district on Wednesday morning, the tambon’s kamnan, Kobchai Saowalak, said. It was suspected that the large blaze began after some people set fire to car tyres near the garbage piles, which had been lying there for a week pending transport to the mainland. The fire sent thick smoke that could been seen from far. As of production time, officials were still trying to control the blaze amid concerns that it might affect tourism on Koh Tao. Just1Voice Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 If they aren't careful, something like that could smolder and burn for MONTHS.

saminoz Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Should let it burn and raze the entire island.
tompelli Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Wouldn't the 40,000 ton garbage dump not affect tourism?

Well, thus far, the garbage mafia people running the island and the garbage business owners supporting them seem to have been trying very hard for it not to. After all, what's a little garbage compared to shielding a bunch of self-serving serial rapists and murderers?
sweatalot Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Koh Tao in the headlines again. For all the wrong reasons as usual

JLCrab Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 And pretty soon -- just like with the bunch-of-rapists-&-serial-murderers -- everyone will know who did it.
