Rang Mahal brand no longer available ??

Featured Replies

I have for a long time been a fan of Rang Mahal foodstuffs, in particular, the curry sauce mix, Homestyle Paratha and chicken samosa. I generally buy them at Makro or Spice R Us supermarket at Rembrandt hotel. i was told at Spice R Us that they will no longer be available, i also noted that makro had very few items left. Does anyone know the story here ?/. If indeed they will no longer be available, does anyone know where i can get similar products (particularly the Paratha flatbread and Roti's) anywhere in Bangkok.

cheers

bigfoodbazar.com has a couple of the Rang Mahal sauces available and a few snacks.  (Or, at least it did a couple of weeks ago when I placed an order.)

Yep, i saw that too, however I dont have a problem making the sauces myself, its the paratha and other indian breads that I am more interested in.

Frozen roti parathas are available in some upmarket supermarkets in Bangkok, mostly imported from Singapore and Malaysia.  I buy them from Gourmet Market and Villa.  One brand has a nasty taste of margarine so is best avoided.  (Can't remember its name.)  I think Villa sells frozen naan too.  Don't know of anywhere that sells chapatis, though.

One brand of roti parathas is sold precooked and you just need to pop one in your toaster.  Convenient and less washing up.

I am always in total, absolute admiration towards people who still indulge to cook at home in Thailand.

I can now confirm it does.  It also sells "fresh" (long life) ones in the bakery section.
