Satellite Tv

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anybody tell me where I can purchase/rent a TV satellite system so that I will be able to watch sport from around the world including the cricket one day series(Australia), the cricket World Cup(West Indies), Six Nations(UK) and the rugby world cup(Ireland). I have UBC, but they seem to show football most of the time. Any help including phone numbers of retailers would be very much appreciated.

I have just read another post which mentions cable as an alternative to UBC, but I live way out in the country 100k south of Korat and cannot get a phone never mind cable TV. Therefore Satellite is the only answer.

I suggest you have a look at http://www.jsat.tv. first.

They operate out of Bangkok but it will give you an idea of what you need. Their latest is the dream DM500 but you need an internet connection to make it fully work. (it does just about all the things that you want)

There are other Satellite companies around Thailand. PSI sat. http://www.psisat.com they seem to have offices all around the country. http://www.psisat.com/shop.php problem there site is in Thai only.

If you just take a drive around Korat I am sure you will find a a few shops that will install a satellite system - the hint is they normally have a satellite dish out the front. Pretty hit and miss though.

Remember - a lot of the satellite transmissions are encoded but that can be rectified. Check out the dynasat section (Dream satellite) in the JSAT forum. STB's (Set Top Box - Satellite receiver) brands can be very different so you have try and choose the right one. That in itself is another complete thread but in basic you want one that decrypts the satellite transmissions either with smart cards or inputted with the decrypt code - update keys. Also have a look at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;hl=sattelite, http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;hl=sattelite, http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;hl=sattelite.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info, I have contacted Jsat and they seem to have exactly what I wanted. I have just sent off an order form so will let you know how I get on.
