The police reform work is now in progress and and the criteria for police transfers and appointments are expected to be concluded by the end of this year, according to Police Reform Committee chairman Gen Boonsrang Niempradit.

Gen Boonsrang said this on Thursday (Oct 12) in responding to criticisms from the public sector that the work to reform the police force is very slow and not making any progress.

He said the Police Reform Committee has worked to the fullest of its ability during the past three months. As for the criteria for police transfers and appointments which is timed to be completed in six months, Gen Boonsrang said a conclusion on the matter is expected to be reached by the end of this year.

"Gen Boonsrang said the police reform committee has reached a conclusion on the annual promotion of the police personnel, as recommended by a subcommittee on personnel administration.

The annual police promotion will be considered by a committee, he said."

A committee?  How many people will ambitious officers have to bribe?

If they drive up the price of promotions, the size and number of brown envelopes will have to go up.

OK

So are all the police chiefs and seconds being audited based on salaries ?

No therefore there is no reforms as there are hundreds maybe thousands of thieves and criminals operating with impunity. Just like your crew that are in on the action.

Elections and with some luck a real PM will bin your crap.

Financial disclosures, starting at the top ranks, are essential.  However any elected government (if that ever happens) with real power (not under the military constitution) will be wary of tackling police or military reform until democracy is well established.

YES correct because this regime is a act. Here only to earn. They don't even know who owns RTP. It's a country that's truly lost.

Priorities: The police reform is about transfers and appointments, not about abuse of power, protectionism, extortion.
