A fire broke out at a factory manufacturing air ducts in Pathum Thani province on Sunday morning, causing damage estimated at Bt5 million. However, there were no casualties as workers were yet to report for work at that hour.

Following a fire report from the factory in the Khlong Luang district at 8am, inspector Pol Major Boonsing Sutthi led rescue workers and five fire engines to inspect the burning warehouse within the compound of Duct Asia Engineering Co Ltd in Soi Bongkot 8. Fire-fighters took 30 minutes to put out the flames.

Security guard Montri Khemphetch, 56, said the factory was closed when he spotted smoke coming from the roof so he and other workers broke down the door in an attempt to extinguish the fire but failed, hence they alerted police.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
