I will need to go shortly to Pattaya Immigration to see about a non emigrant visa as I did not get my old passport back with my new one, and my

re-entry permit was on it, so I will have to start again. anyone have any tips on this?

What would be the best time and day to go to avoid long queues? Thanks

best time of the day.......early morning from 8.30

If it's 'just' your re-entry permit, get a new one. Forms at Immigration and take a copy of your passport incl. 2 passpics.

If the automation system works at Immigration, and you old passport number is mentioned in your new passport, you may be lucky.

I hope you didn't loose your non imm. visa

Your situation sounds rather complicated but in my experience for regular annual retirement extensions, the best time of day to show up is about an hour before CLOSING time. Most people think you need to go early so that usually means almost instant service. Don't tell anyone!

You've got a fair amount of work to do.  You've got a few options.  One, let Pattaya immigration do everything for you.  You'll pay, but won't have to go to Bangkok.  If you do it on your own, you'll need to go to Bangkok at least one time.  Maybe more.  Depends on your nationality and how you're qualifying for the visa.

I just went through this process.  PM me if you want.

The best time to go is late afternoons.  Not on a Friday.  The place is normally dead.  Early mornings, the line can be out the door.  and parking is limited.

You might want to report this post and have a mod move it to the visa forum?????  Joe can step you through the whole process.  He was a huge help to me.

Last week I had to do both re-entry and 90 day. I arrived at 8.50 am and was out in 20 minutes. Having lived here for 35 years I near passed out when my number was called to get my passport at the re-entry, such was the shock. So big kudos to Immigration for the changes made.

It's also a super low season.  I've had to go a few times over the past month or so and it's very quiet.  Sure beats 4-5 years ago! LOL

@possum1931: Why do you say you have to start all again ??

I understand that you changed passport while being in Thailand? The fact you don't have your old passport put you in a situation similar to someone who lost his passport and got a new one. It doesn't change your situation relatively to Thai Immigration.

Just go to Jomtien Immigration with your new passport and the letter of your Embassy about this new passport, and they will be able to find you on their computer and to transfer your old visa and extension on the new one. A photocopy of the old password could help if you have any.

I don't have to go to Bangkok, I just got a new passport which arrived without the old one, and will need to start all over again.

My old passport number is mentioned in my new passport, and knowing how bad Thai immigration can be, I expect I will need to start again with my retirement exts, but thanks for your good wishes.

No. I got my new passport here in the UK and flying back to Thailand on Sunday. I phoned the passport office and they more or less just told me to hope it comes before Sunday.

Not sure of your exact travel circumstances but deferring your return travel until after you get the old passport back will save a lot of reduce the bureaucratic dicking about once you get back here.

Good luck!

I had to start all over and it cost me 2 trips to Bankok.  Joe helped me out.  No way around it for me.
