Hi there,

I posted one week ago that I got a Non-Imm F visa for government work.

I have to fly to Philippines this week for work conference.  Therefore, Do I need to go get a re-entry permit for my current "F" visa?  I know F is different from B so re-entry could be a different avenue.

If yes, I got a re-entry permit on my previous ED visa just before I switched to F (2 weeks ago).  Can I use that re-entry permit or it is linked to my previous ED visa?

Thanks in advance

You will need a new re-entry permit for the 90 day entry you got from the non-f visa.

Your old one would not match your current entry.

May I ask how long does it take at CW to get one (maybe re-entry process is faster) ? Can I go there after lunch and expect to get it within 1-2 hours or it's the typical get there before 8am, wait in line and spend the day there? Thx

You could go to the airport some 30 minutes earlier and get it there before the flight (Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang).

After entering the immigration area and before checkpoint.

Take a photo (4*6 cm) in case their photo device is defect.

The point always to remember about reentry permits is that they are attached to your current permission to stay in Thailand. Reentry permits are never associated with a visa. Indeed, if you have a valid unexpired visa, you usually do not need a reentry permit at all. The type of visa you originally used to enter Thailand, and the type of entry (extended or not) does not matter. If you need to leave and renter Thailand without disturbing your current permission to stay, you need a reentry permit.
