Underwood Art Factory

Anyone been here? What's it like?

They've had a couple of comedy events there that I would have gone to if they were a more convenient location. The Bypass Road is hardly convenient for most expats and tourists, though those few living in Samkong or Koh Knew would be quite happy.

I just wonder why they are using this venue, whether it fills for the comedy events and whether it might be worth a trip up there sometime. I'd guess the promoters would get a much better turnout if they used a place in Rawai, Patong or Karon/Kata.

Years ago, they held regular dinner events with music in the area that overlooks the factory. I'm not sure why they stopped, but appears that they've started something similar again.

Personally, I lost all respect for this place and its management a few years ago when they stopped paying their Thai factory workers, stringing them along by paying them half salary and promising the rest "later".
