A Little Help Please

Featured Replies

could you kind people please help someone who is pulling out hair he aint got,

i decided to go work in bangkok after i met my wife and stayed for 18 months but my contract finshed and the wife told me she wanted to come to england, so ive been back in a very wet and windy england for 4 1/2 months now where ive got a job and saving like crazy to get her over, the thing thats bothering me is that everybody keeps saying i need 5000 pound in the bank or lots of money to help look after her, ive got my own house which is being rented out until she comes over im saving my wage slips(as somebody on this site told me i need six months) but i dont know how much i need(or if i need) in the bank.

so thanks in advance if anybody out there can put some ideas my way, i know you guys out there have been through the same so you will all know how im feeling at the minute.

thanks

shaun

Presumably she intends to apply for a settlement visa. That being the case there is no set amount, you just need to be able to prove that you have somewhere for you both to stay and have an income that would support you both without recourse to public funds. Of course the bigger the bank balance the more convincing it looks, you dont have to be rich but you must be self sufficient.
