Second Hand Bookshops Around Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Any current update on bookshops/locations around Pattaya greatly appreciated.

-1 I know Cantebury Tales on Soi Chaiyapoon is still up and running.

-2 Haven't bought books in Pattaya for a long time. Last week, went to Tops Supermarket on Pattaya Klang. Last time I was there they had the Supermarket and BOOKSHOP upstairs. Just found out it's no longer there....shows how out of date my bookshop knowledge is,LOL........

-3 So, apart from Canterbury Tales, any other locations and info. is welcome....as I will do some buying in the next 1-2 weeks.

cheers.

Canterbury has a good selection. Do you live here? Most hotels don't have good quality table lamps so best just to buy books via the many apps

I am in America and get books - anything I want - from the library for free. I prefer them to ebooks, but probably would use a Kindle in Thailand these days. However, that Tops Supermarket bookshop on Pattaya Klang was really good back in the day.

Indeed it was, I bought many a book from Tops. There "are" libraries in this area( one quite close to where I live: air-conned and quiet), but as you can imagine the English selection is limited, to put it mildly.

Thanks.

As per my original post, I am just putting feelers out in the community to see what bookshops are in the area: I am sure there might be viable alternatives to Canterbury Tales, so hopefully some people will know.

Driving west down Pattaya Klang the other day I thought I spotted what looked like a book shop on the left about 50 metres before Beach Road. I did not stop to look so could be mistaken?

That will be DK Books. Well worth a browse. They also sell foriegn newspapers and one of the local English language newspapers. They open at 10.

There is a used bookstore on Chaiphruek (sp?) maybe 300 meters or so down from Jomtien Beach Road.  Fairly good selection.  The Foodland by the Jomtien bus station has a small selection of used books to the right as you go in the entrance.

It is DK books. Expect some level of staff hostility to customers and you will not subsequently be shocked.

Pleasant lady and her daughters and son run the place. Never been hostile to me.
