Aspirin is aspirin so not sure what you are on about Thai copy.  Believe most facilities can still source 81mg types for blood thinning treatment and probably the 325gm normal size - Bayer made the 500mg size which I believe they have removed from the market.  You might want to post what exactly you want if you are asking other to obtain for you.

Expect a consultation with a doctor might be best course however - aspirin is not a normal treatment and if not under a doctors supervision might not be the best medication.

Just browsed over some of the dozen+ threads on Aspirin.

"Aspirin" is a registered trademark of Bayer Pharmacy.

Only Bayer can distribute under this name.

This might indeed be difficult to find here.

The substance, acetylsalicylic acid, is some of the most trivial stuff to produce.

No need to bleat about "Thai copy bs".

The 81 mg (blood thiner) is available as:

Aspent M or

Aspilets

(two that I found)

If this is not the right dosage for your wife, then you should really consult a doctor.

Aspirin in high dosage has dangerous life threatening effects when you catch Dengue fever which is quite widespread in Thailand.

For more qualified answers you should be specific about the illness/need to use Aspirin.

The low dose stuff which should be enteric coated is only meant for long term therapy to prevent heart/stroke events. Or used as a baby dose like regular aspirin. Not for everyone and usually a doctor should be consulted first as there are risks as well (internal bleeding).

Regular dose aspirin is used for pain control and also sometimes under tongue primary heart attack care while waiting for an ambulance.

I have had no recent problems sourcing either.

There have been periodic issues at some pharmacies in the past.

Highly advise not asking for baby aspirin in Thailand however.  They do not want it to be used for children due Reye's syndrome and in my experience will automatically say they do not have (and give you the killer look).  Aspirin is not the doctor's tool kit here.

Good point.

I always ask for LOW DOSE aspirin.

Obviously, giving any medication to a baby should only be done with a doctor's advice.

May have been true once, certainly is not true anymore. Aspirin has become a generic name in most countries.

Here is generic aspirin from one of UK's best known pharmacies and from one of the US's (including Bayers on sale next to it):

Actually it is true - it is a trademark name in many countries.

Due to allowing the use of "Aspirin" for years by other manufacturing chemists, despite the trademark-infringing nature of the use, and its own failure to use the name for its own product when it began selling direct, Bayer lost its trademark in the United States in 1918, affirmed by court appeal in 1921.[157] Today, aspirin is a generic word in Australia, France, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Jamaica, Colombia, the Philippines, South Africa, Ghana, the United Kingdom and the United States.[158] Aspirin, with a capital "A", remains a registered trademark of Bayer in Germany, Canada, Mexico, and in over 80 other countries, where the trademark is owned by Bayer, using acetylsalicylic acid in all markets, but using different packaging and physical aspects for each.

But after World War I Bayer was forced to give up the trademark as part of German war reparations! At the Treaty of Versailles, the trademark for Aspirin and for Heroin were given to France, Britain, Russia and the United States.

Plenty of aspirin available, sounds like the problem is that you are insisting on a name brand no longer sold in Thailand. Also sounds like it is full dose that is wanted, not the low dose (though in a pinch could obviously just take more of the low dose).

There is no "BS" about the Thai brands, and if what you are after is Bayer brand  it is currently off market here.

A.S.a. Cap

A.S.A.-500

Aspirin BD 325

Aspent (this one is enteric coated, helps prevent stomach irritation. Not to be confused with Aspent-M which is low f=dose. Aspent is 300 mg).

and many other brands

Aspent is an multinational brand (Ranbaxy, based in India) the rest are Thai made. All will work.
