Police suspect a neighbor in vicious rape/murder attempt in Northern Thailand

Police in Mae Ai district of Chiang Mai suspect that the man who raped and attempted to murder a woman is one of her neighbors.

 

The man savagely raped Namuay, 28, after taking her to a hotel. Then he attacked her with a knife cutting off several fingers and virtually severing her left hand, reported Sanook. 

 

She also suffered severe head wounds but was out of danger of death at Mae Ai hospital yesterday following the attack on Thursday evening.

 

She had been described as homeless but relatives said she was in fact a mentally deficient woman who had a home but often wandered around the neighborhood. She had been missing for some time.

 

She was vulnerable and police in Thatorn believe a neighbor took her to the hotel and attacked her. 

 

They believe that the attacker thought she was dead.

 

But the victim managed to crawl out of the hotel to the road where she was found close to death. 

 

Investigations continue.

It's low life scum like this that need to be taken around the back and shot in the back of the head and left to die.

 

What an absolute awful thing to happen to any woman.

 

They better pick this low life scumbag up real quick before he strikes again, and like I said, take him around the back and put one in his head, as he has no real purpose on this planet but to do what low life scum like this do.

 

I would expect as he took her back to a hotel that they would have his personal details.

Police need to look around to see whose done a recent disappearing act, this guy would have done an immediate runner!

Obviously she was vulnerable so this low-life thought he'd take advantage for his own short term pleasure then kill-off the poor women so she couldn't report him... I hope she can identify him so police can arrest him quickly

 

The post said he took her to a hotel... does the hotel have CCTV or keep records of patrons?

Huh? This kind of thing happens all over the world. Thailand has a lot of positive things going for it, but no one claims it is perfect.
