Hello to all the techies.

With the high rate of humidity in Thailand, would be glad to share what issues can occur (if any) on computers and various peripherals.

What would you recommend to preserve the gear ? I live in Thailand around 6 months per year and the gear would be left in Thailand in my unoccupied place.

Thanks for any comments or advice.

I keep my camera and electronics in a dry cabinet. Available from pro photographic stores in Bangkok.

Humidity can damage expensive optics which is why photography stores sell these cabinets.

I also own camera gear for a small fortune and as above post also use a dry cabinet for that.

Computers will likely be okay without any precautions.

My PC and TV lives without ac and no problems but okay used almost every day.

Don't store electronics in a closet, somewhere with a bit of air flow is better.

If anything, I think the salt in sea breezes would be more damaging than high humidity, but that said, I've lived near the beach for the past 14 years and never seen any corrosion in my computers or with other electronics.  I do get salt residue on my glass patio doors, but no harm to electronics in my condo.
