A fire broke out at Bangkok’s Bang Sue railway community on Sunday morning, resulting in 10 homes being destroyed although no casualties were reported, Pol Captain Wanlop Makhunchorn of Tao Poon Police Station said.

The fire, which began at 5am, was suspected to have been caused by a short-circuit in an unoccupied makeshift house with no house registration number, he said.

The fire spread quickly due to the close proximity of the wooden one-storey homes within a two-rai space near the Bang Sue Railway Police Flats, police said.

It took some 10 fire engines to put out the flames.
