Prince Harry's Fiancée Meghan Markle Is Related To William Shakespeare And Winston Churchill

BY TUFAYEL AHMED

Meghan Markle is set to take up British citizenship after she marries the U.K.’s Prince Harry. But it turns out the actor already has some impressive roots in Britain—she is related to both William Shakespeare and Winston Churchill.

Prince Harry’s American bride-to-be is Shakespeare’s fifth cousin 13 times removed, according to genealogy service MyHeritage.com, which looked into Markle’s family tree following news of her engagement to Harry, 33, Monday.

Shakespeare is, of course, the world’s most famous playwright best known for his great romantic works, like Romeo and Juliet, so it’s befitting the Bard’s descendant is swept up in a modern day love story (hopefully, minus the tragedy).

Royal bride Meghan Markle related to Churchill, Shakespeare

Laura Elston

London: Prince Harry's American bride-to-be Meghan Markle is reportedly not so foreign to the British establishment as could be believed.

The 36-year-old bi-racial divorcee might be distantly related to both Winston Churchill and William Shakespeare, research by genealogists indicates.

Experts from MyHeritage.com found the former Suits star is linked to the two well-known British historical figures.

Markle, who was born in Los Angeles, is Shakespeare's fifth cousin 13 times removed, the researchers said.

Last report was that her descendants were from Yorkshire.  Will lived in Warwickshire and Winston lived in Kent so that's the whole of England covered.  Next will be links to Robert burns and Dylan Thomas. Probably won't bother with Ireland, troublesome bunch.

So, that would put her about 2,987,756,345th in line for the throne?  Does she move up at all after the wedding?

Who cares. In the end, we are all related to apes.

We all came from a species that evolved into apes and humans, but it's a long stretch to say we could trace our relationship to any specific ape this far down the line.

Come to it, every biological lifeform on the planet probably evolved from the first simple single celled organism capable of reproduction.

Maybe you were, but God created me in his image.

She is a 36 year old divorcee.

Allegedly infertile, by royal appointment (they're abandoning the faux Hewitt royal line).

The Hewitt story is a lie.Diana didn't meet Hewitt until Summer of 1986.Harry was born in September 1984.A glance at Harry's features very clearly shows Charles's too.The ginger gene is well entrenched in the Spencer line.

So only simpletons believe the myth and only morons spread it.

Since we are all related to one another and Monkeys, the expression "A Monkeys Uncle"  is true ......
.recent photos of her made me think she was more related to Birds as she has legs like a Lark.

You will have to explain how Darwinism relates to a slapstick comment expressing disbelief?

And while you are about it, why would you want to make a nonscence simile of her legs to a songbird?

So... Unlikely as may be... If somehow Harry becomes king, does that mean an American queen? 555,    Hey what do I know, We currently have a communist first lady living in our White House!  Sorry 'bout ruffling the feathers there!   Cheers!

Well, she's becoming a UK citizen but it's not uncommon in royal histories of many countries for there to be marriages to foreigners, generally other foreign royals.

I had wondered if she was going to be giving up her U.S. citizenship because of tax issues. Well, it turns out I was on to something. You aren't actually able to give up U.S. citizenship only for tax reasons or if you're found to, they can still go after you. There was an item in Washpo that U.S. taxation was going to be a problem because it may mean exposing private British royal financial matters to the U.S. IRS. So that story isn't over!

American expats know this already. You can "escape" from the USA but escaping from the IRS ... good luck with that.

Thanks Jing.... I threw some sarcastic jibberish in there and you replied some good stuff.  Bloody IRS!
