The immigration in Bangkok. My friend like to know for Pattaya/Jomtien

They accept income letters that are up to 6 months old on the date the extension is applied for.

I read that they (immigration) start getting picky extending/renewing the one year stay to people over a certain age...

Any truth to it?

Some people say 6 months and others 3 months? So how old can my income letter be when I apply for my retirement extension at immigration?

The regulations say it must be no older then 6-months but it’s also at the discretion of the Immigration Officer reviewing the application.

There have been reports at a handful of immigration offices of some extensions for purpose of retirement being initially under consideration, with subsequent house visits. The reasons are unclear, and it still seems to be rare.

More common, actually, is immigration officials pressing people into doing retirement extensions rather than marriage extensions because the former is simpler, involving them in less work. They definitely do not want to deter people from using retirement extensions when they qualify.

I always apply for my income letter 1 month in advance of the extension (UK).

I have done a marriage extension for 9 years and have never been asked to apply for  a retirement extension.

I  have an agent who has been doing my extensions in Bangkok for many years now and dealing with immigration in Bangkok is his full time job. He says one week.
