Not getting much joy contacting the Embassy (The one that's open not the closed one)

Going to Siem Reap in January for 3 days. I've read that I can apply for a Visa at the embassy and pick it up the same day?

I am not sure re that. I do know that it is in a very inconvenient location, way down a back soi, unaccessible by public transport - and that you can instead either

1 - get an Evisa online (costs about $5 more, saves a full page in your passport)

https://www.evisa.gov.kh/

or

2- get visa on arrival (bring photo with you)

Not sure what that even is. Do you mean a visa to re-enter Thailand?

I was reading somewhere you pay $25 to get out. Think that may be long term though. Also been working in Qatar for a few years where you need an exit visa, Thailand I Have a Non-immigrant 1 year multi-entry Thanks

You do not need to pay anything to leave either Thailand or Cambodia and there are no exit visas. Your current permission to stay in Thailand will be canvelled when you leave and when you re-enter under the ME visa you will get a new stamp gor another 30 days.

This is assuming you have not already received a one year extension of stay (by reason of marriage, retirement etc). If you have then you need to get a re-entry permit.

thanks, I should have scrolled up and read your post, I have 1 year Multi entry Non-immigrant O, and get 90 days in

You previously stated that you have a 1 year multiple entry non-O visa.  If the visa is still valid upon reentry, you do not need a reentry permit.  You will get another 90 days permission to stay on reentry.

If the visa has expired but your current permission to stay extends beyond the expiration date of the visa you will need to purchase a re-entry permit, 1000 baht, to get the balance of your current permission to stay upon reentry.  Otherwise you will only get a visa exempt entry, the number of days depends on your citizenship.

How stupid is that !

Or maybe we can apply at 11h30 and get it at 1pm ?

Thanks.

I doubt it very much. No one is going to be working through the lunch hour. And the process takes more than 2 hours.

Why not just get an evisa online? Saves a full page in your passport, quick and painless.

Or get visa on arrival....it will add 30-45 minutes to time spent in the airport, less than the time you'll spend traveling to the Embassy in Bkk.
