A prominent lawyer and a step-grandmother of a boy who was deemed to have committed suicide have urged the Crime Suppression Division to reopen the case.

They believe that Thiwa Kaewsingh - Bank - aged just 14 was murdered.

And they believe that the boy's real grandmother and uncle, who neighbors said abused the boy, may have a case to answer.

Samorn McGuiness said that she had always looked after Bank. On October 3rd she called him inside to help with the dishes but after she scolded him he ran off.

He was found dead at a house in Pak Chong, Nakorn Ratchasima, on October 7th. He was in a seated position with an electrical cord around his neck.

He had many wounds on his body.

Samorn alleged that his real grandmother and uncle abused him and repeatedly hit him - so much so that the neighbors had to intervene on occasion to protect him.

Lawyer Rannarong Kaewpetch said that the case was full or irregularities. The body was positioned seating and was not even leaning up against the wall. The investigation was bungled by the police as DNA was not taken from the cord and some vital pieces of evidence were burnt during the cremation of Bank's body.

The injuries on the body were highly suspicious and there were doubts that the marks around the neck were caused by the cord. They could have been strangulation by another means beforehand, it was alleged.

The CSD were urged to reopen the case.

The context of abuse is really sad.

The messing up and neglect in the investigation is disgraceful.

The CSD must reopen and do everything in it's power to establish the truth.

And even if proved (?)  that the boy did commit suicide, the abuse and the ill treatment from his family,  should not be outlooked.

Is human life that worthless in Thailand or are the Thai police, sometimes, that careless ?

Sadly, unless you are "connected", YES and (always) YES!
