There are also pink varieties. My wife just got one up in Loei, probably near Phu Rua National Park where they have an annual Poinsettia Festival.  Note that Poinsettias are short-day plants.  The day length (period of light) must be less than 10 hours (12?) for maybe 40 days or they won't bloom.  Not good if they are near a street or porch light or whatever.  I've heard of greenhouse operators who had some sections not bloom because a night watchman used a flashlight to check the thermostat temperature every night.  They even cover them daily or use lights to alter the bloom time.
