I have been in Bangkok for a few days and usually visit the Irish Bars as they have mo loud music and I can read some UK papers. The happy hour prices vary quite a bit. The Robin Hood ( if it is still called that ) at Phrom Pong charged 99B, Hanrahans in Nana, it was 105B but at Molly Malones in Silom I was charged 130B - all for the same drink - pint of Tiger. Perhaps now the competition in Silom has gone Mollys are cashing in. I always thought Sukhumvit would be more expensive but obviously not. I think I will avoid Silom in future. Does anyone else have happy hour prices to share?

Royal Oak on Suk 33/1 has 1/2 pints..B80 during HH. I noticed an Irish pub also on 33/1, forget the name...same side as Royal Oak..B90 bottled beers as I recall but not sure.

Day time go-go's Soi Post-Office by any chance? "View" is far better than outdoor beer-bars nearby. Nothing new.

Cheers.

Spoil sport, party pooper. 3 month's from now they may be out of business. Not like the Soi Post Office day-time go go's, that have been around for the last 200 years.

Cheers.

OP is spot on about Molly Malone's.  Used to be a reasonable price for Happy Hour beers, but they seem to be increasing the prices every few months - from THB 80 to 130 in just a couple of years!  I have stopped going there because of this, and it seems many others have also found better options.

In America HH beers are 60-90B.

Beer is cheaper and better quality.

Although the 60B stuff tends to be PBR, which is still superior to many Thai brands. ?

Well both Pattaya and America are far from Bangkok which is the OP's question.

How about some of the hotels... they offer good ambience and often snacks.

Watch out for the ++ though.

HOBs on Thonglor, or Ekamai Beer House too.

Sadly the Pattaya guys are right that they have far more choices.

In UK not so many happy hours. Usually people are normally happy  in the pub ! Unless you meet old Joe whose allotment is not doing so well.
