Chaeng Wattana Road to be half-closed for a month

By The Nation

A 150-metre section of the inbound lanes of Chaeng Wattana Road near the National Cultural Centre in northern Bangkok will be closed for four hours a day from January 10 to February 10 ahead of construction of the electric railway’s Orange Line.

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand said on Wednesday the segment in front of the Esplanade Cineplex Ratchadapisek would be closed daily from midnight to 4am, reducing the road from four lanes to two.

Underground public utilities are to be installed ready for construction of an Orange Line station, which will be a combination underground and elevated railway.

Can anyone elaborate on what the proposed orange line will cover?

Is this BTS, MRT, or some sort of joint venture?

The Cultural Centre/Esplanade Cinema is nowhere near Chaeng Wattana Rd!!
