Less cockroaches and rats outside of WS.

I've seen more cockroaches on a main Bkk thoroughfare than ever I saw on W S. Actually, I've never seen a rat there.

A lot of the normal Thai only clubs don't really get going till after 2AM.  I've been rolled in a few of them but my memory is rather vague about the experience because of the concussion.

3rd Road has 100% Thai bars which are rammed full when i pass at 5.30am, not a farang in sight so I'm not sure how welcome you will be

I got to meet a number of normal Thai muggers who beat me up and threw me in the jungle.  It was an interesting cross cultural experience.  They don't hit as hard as the muggers in Detroit or Chicago and on the bright side I didn't get shot or knifed.

Speaking as one that has been in a situation with Thai people that did not speak English IN PATTAYA I can safely say 'tis you that is in error.

Frankly, your theory that everyone in Pattaya is involved in the tourism business is so way off that it is in orbit around Mars.

There have been countless threads bemoaning the FACT that Thai kids don't learn to speak English in school, so ...................................................

Also fact, the Thais that go to clubs that are not freelancers may not have anything to do with the tourist trade in any way, shape or form.

Freelancers of course will usually speak English.

Have a nice day.

Making a comparison to Mars doesn't make your argument any less ridiculous.  I doubt he really wants advice from an old man that doesn't live anywhere near Pattaya and has probably never been to any of the Thai clubs he is asking about.

Fyi...I asked my wife what percentage of Thai's in Pattaya speak english.  She said 80%.  They know English to speak to other Thais?  Or maybe to speak to the huge number tourists and expats they interact with.

Given the OP is asking for just such establishments to visit, perhaps you can enlighten him, and us, as to where such may be found in Pattaya.

I already gave my recommendation earlier (below), my reply was meant to those messages recommending the walking street clubs, as I assume OP specifically wanted something else :)

ps. I've also been to Noir Pattaya. It's a cool night club but mostly people in their own tables etc. and not as social unless you go in a bigger group. Gets going only after 2-3am, around midnight completely empty.

Check out BONE Pattaya. Been there twice, only with one friend and it was really fun. We were probably the only farangs there but people were really friendly. Both times some random groups invited us to join them. I'm not sure if it's a night club that's always open or events only.

LOL, the tourist and expat component of Pattaya has been small for quite a few years now. It's grown a bit since 1990.

I would recommend Hollywood, its a great place. As others have said, normal Thai people, Koreans, Chinese etc. Great Bands, floor shows and dance music. Its worth it just for the eye candy, I have never seen so many cute Asian girls in one place.

Warning: They dont play hotel California (for the 127th time) and the patrons dont wear singlets.

Damn a trip to Thailand is never complete without the obligatory Hotel California (or Wings of Change / Zombies) - I'm surprised someone hasn't remixed them ...edit they have this would get the dance floor going wild...

Thanks for the numerous and helpful replies.
I would like to give short report about my trip and experience.

Bone and Hollywood were nice and the clubs I was looking for. However as we were only a "group" of two and my friend not into whisky drinking, it was some kind of limited. We had a few beers and moved on.
However if you are there in a bigger group with a table it's supposed to be great fun.

The Pier club on WS seems to be the most genuine club. Almost to none freelancers and a lot of Thais. Music was hit and miss.
EDM, Hip hop and Thai car alarm music [emoji16]

Insomia, I don't know why this venue is so popular. It's freaking loud, has no dance floor and a strange crowd inside. Not planning to go back.

Hot Tuna Bar, great live music but depends on the band and the requests from the audience. Not bad though.

Marine Disco. Went there one night pretty late (early morning). Music was awesome hard techno for about one hour. Almost best music I've ever heard in Thailand.

Now comes a joke:
Anyone knows about the Marine Yensabai Disco?

One night when The Pier was closed already, I asked motorcycle taxi to drive me to Marine Disco in WS. He said closed already but there is one open at the mentioned place.
I thought great, maybe branch of Marine disco and also close to my hotel.
When I arrived there I had the shock of my life [emoji23]
Only Arabs and I mean it. No other ethnic groups. The staff at the bar (Thai) asked me what am I doing here because I don't look Arab.
I had one beer and left with a funny experience.

Off topic, before hitting the clubs we went to some go go bars in WS.
We had a look in many of them or even one drink but by far the best one we considered Peppermint.
Others were empty means almost no girls or customer inside.

Thanks for sending a trip report.  A lot of people ask for advice and never follow up.

Your assessment seems pretty close to what I would expect and similar to mine.  Insomnia is the worst club.  It basically is almost entirely filled with bar girls.  Its the place the bar girls go after work to to be seen by other bar girls...lol

Once you live in Thailand long enough you might actually like the "Thai car alarm music" !

Is that the one next to the Arab bar area?

If so, I used to go there all the time in the mid 90s after Marine closed as it went on till after dawn. Not an Arab only place then, but wouldn't surprise me if changed now. "Their" area has expanded significantly since the 90s.

Yes I think it is what you call Arab area. Soi Yensabai.

Years ago that marine now in the Arab area was the main marine nightclub and it was a great night.

Peppermint has always been one of my favourites and has stood the test of time. The dj knocks out some great tunes.
