Three Myanmar nationals killed in Nonthaburi road accident

Three Myanmar workers were killed and six others injured in a pickup crash in Nonthaburi on Wednesday night, police said.

The injured included five other Myanmar nationals, all of whom were employed at Quick Paint Co Ltd, and the Thai driver of the pickup.

Police said the accident happened at 9.30pm on Nakhon In Road in Tambon Bang Khunkong in Bang Kruay district.

Police said the pickup was heading to Rama V Road and apparently lost control, hitting a road island, a tree and a lamp pole before it crossed to the opposite side of the road and hit a sedan car.

The three killed Myanmar nationals were identified as Sai Hongpai, Simira and Saimika.

All six injured people were taken to the Phra Nangklao Hospital.

The sedan driver, Kwanyuen Laowaraphan, 50, and passengers were not injured.

Police believe the pickup's tyre burst, making the driver lose control. There were also skid marks on the asphalt showing that the driver had tried to apply the brakes.

Police have not yet interrogated the pickup driver.
