All cancers exluded from health insurance due to past disease - is this likely to be with all insurances?

Hi,

After doing a lot of research for good health insurance in Thailand I narrowed down my choices to ACS and MSH. Both have plans that cover you outside of Thailand and high enough limits ($500k/1m per year).

However, after applying for ACS their medical advisor said they can only accept my application with the condition that all cancer pathologies / treatmets will be excluded. I had testicular cancer when I was 18 and it was well taken care of, not recurred and fully recovered.

Now I was totally expecting that they would not in any circumstance cover anything related to the past disease, however it seems a little worrying they would completely exclude any type of cancer / tumours that could appear in the future. As far as the medical advice I've received, the testicular cancer I had long time ago does not indicate I'm any more likely to get another type of cancer later. My plan was to get the "life long" insurance with them.

Now my question is, that is this regular practice and expected? Would it be likely to be the same with any other insurance company?

Probably not, but  the only way to find out is to apply.

Internationally based insurers tend to be more nuanced/reasonable in how they treat past conditions.
