Getting a bike lock key duplicated

Featured Replies

A local (tiny shop) key maker was able to duplicate my house key but said no to the bike lock key. Anyone know a place that can do most kinds of key duplications?

Some motorbike repair shops have a machine for this. Even if the shop where you ask doesn't, they can probably tell you where you can go

I had one done a couple of years ago. The guy had a stand on Pattaya Klang on the left going towards Second Rd. just past Soi Buakhow.

I would also try in Big C Extra on the ground floor.

Are you talking about  bicycle wheel lock???

The fact is what ever lock you have, there are many types of keys so will depend on:

  • The key type, and if the key cutter/locksmith has a machine to cut that type of key, the most common type of key is referred to as a Cylinder Key (a flat key with groves and saw tooth cuts   (o)vvvv>   ).
  • If the key blanks are available, there are thousands of different ones so it would be impractical for even the largest key cutter/locksmith to keep a stock of every one available to them,  also many are "Restricted Profile" and protected by patent and the manufacturer will not sell.

It has been some time since I have been to Pattaya but the only decent locksmith I know of was located Soi Sip Chet by the Gurudwara Indian Temple.
