Rimmer
Street sweepers shocked at quantity of litter PATTAYA:--A private company hired by Pattaya to keep Pratamnak Hill’s street clean is appalled at the amount of litter they are finding. Employees of Napachot Co. said they are shocked that residents and tourists alike care so little for the wooded hill that they just toss trash everywhere, every day. The company was hired by city hall to sweep streets and empty trash bins, so it’s fine collecting taxpayer money to do the job. But employees said the public should have more concern for the environment than what they’ve seen. The trash problem is not only little, but garbage stealthily stashed in holes, sewers and bushes by street vendors, as well as sewage flushed out of tour buses. All of it ruins Pattaya’s image with tourists and makes it harder to get the area completely clean. If everyone did their part, the entire city would look better, Nopachot workers said. -- © Copyright Pattaya Mail 2018-01-
JSixpack
The "sewage flushed out of tour buses" presses a number of our hot buttons, so that was really cool to throw in there. Edited January 28, 2018 by JSixpack

I'm guessing they're not paid by weight.
LennyW
Unfortunately this area is not unique in the trash stakes!!

maxpower
Why don't people use the conveniently located garbage disposal points scattered around the city?

Jonah777
A large bulldozer taking out Pattaya would really help these days. End the liter and all the garbage once and for all.

There are trash cans all along Beach road which help. The problem with the rest of the town and most of Thailand is lack of trash receptacles. Thus, throw trash someplace and soon it takes on a life of its own.
stud858
I suggest this. The finance minister requests a print of a certain amount of money. Established a new environmental office. Then gives good salaries to people to collect bury and recycle rubbish. Good idea?
