Hi all,

Do any of you know if they offer this therapy here in Thailand and if so, which hospital/s & doctor/s?

If any of you have had experience with it, can you inform me of the success, etc as i am reading alot about this subject as it seems to be a better alternative to surgery and many other types of treatments, if you can get it.

I am mainly referring to PRP for chronic Rotator Cuff Tendinitis.

Thank you

Hmm, the above post is from Wiki, rather than a Sports Science pov.

While there is a lack of peer reviewed studies, prp does seem to have a degree of success.

I would speak with your Orthopaedic Surgeon for his opinion.

I've had chronic Hamstring Tendonitis for over 3 months, tried Physio/Acupuncture/Cortisone. All with limited success.

P'raps I'll try sacrificing a lamb at dawn next....

(1) The point of view is pretty irrelevant.  In multiple areas of medicine there is no evidence for a biological effect of this treatment.  There's no reason to think it would be effective for the OP.

(2) The journal you're citing is extremely low quality.  From German Wikipedia and Google-translated:

"The impact factor was 2.04 in 2014. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor is ranked 47th out of 83 journals in the Physiology category , 87th out of 128 journals in the Endocrinology and Metabolism category , 108th in the immunology category 148 journals and in the category experimental and research medicine led 71st out of 123 journals."

(3) The article itself concedes "clinical studies still show controversial results. Further studies are required to define the efficacy".  In other words, there's no quality evidence of biological effect.

Doubt you understood the point I was making Mr Ox.

This isn't a pishing contest.

I don't have time to evaluate the efficacy of prp. I offered an opinion, & showed that it shouldn't be completely discounted.

I was attempting to assist the op, enabling him to make a judgement.
