An Australian man who was the victim of a brutal and violent attack at a popular bar in Pattaya on Friday has died, it has been confirmed.

The man, who has been identified by Australian media as Benjamin Robb from Melbourne, died in Pattaya Memorial Hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning, the Herald Sun reported, after suffering catastrophic injuries to his face and head.

He died from “internal bleeding and severe facial damage as a result of sustained impact to his cranium and skull”, it was reported.

Mr Robb’s attacker, who is reporedly an American tourist in his late twenties, initially fled the scene but handed himself into police hours later.

On Sunday, Thaivisa exclusively reported the incident which took place in the Ruby Club on Soi 6 at approximate 6.30pm on Friday 9 Feb.

According to witnesses, Mr Robb became invovled in a confrontation with group of men, one of whom attacked him, throwing him across the room, punching him in his face and stomping on his head “10 to 15 times”.

Witnesses recalled the group then laughing and taking photos of Mr Robb as he lay unconcious and severly injured on the floor.

The Ruby Club has since released a statement confirming the incident took place:

“An altercation lasting less than 20 seconds between two customers on Friday night resulted in one person being taken to hospital with serious looking injuries, which sadly resulted in him passing away in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“The other individual involved handed himself in to police and it is understood he is to remain in custody until a court appearance in 10 days or so.

“Whilst our thoughts remain with the victims relatives, we would also like to thank the emergency services for their prompt and professional attention in dealing with the incident.”

Whatever the US laws may say, this yank killed an Australian on Thai soil.

Hope he will rot in prison in Thailand and then burn in hell.

Kicking a man's head when he is do3wn is the most despicable act imaginable.

His bloody US friends should get a long time in prison also, for not stopping the idiot, for not helping the victim, leaving him and for making pictures.

Bastards of the lowest order, all of them.

Absolutely really they are all just equally guilty
