Chicog Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Well a few fleeting moments of excitement but I'm glad that wasn't a late game. No injuries, so now to focus on the big one...
Bredbury Blue Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Excellent game for the neutral (ok Hull fan for 2 hrs). Hull got better as the game went on...expect to see them in the Premier, they looked decent. Two brilliant saves by the Hull goalie.
StevieH Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 well played hull. and yeah, their goalkeeper was excellent. the one hand save from the deflected shot was the sort of thing even jockstar would acknowledge.
Bredbury Blue Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 "...Hull City team with ten changes from their previous Championship outing..."; I'm even more impressed since I just found that out.
mrbojangles Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I still don't want video refs. Even if one day you agree and get to like video refs, you would never be able to admit it on here. Your loss of face would be so huge we would have to start calling you Nicolas Cage 2
Bredbury Blue Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 ^Not often something on the football forum makes me laugh, so well done MrBJ.
Chicog Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Aw look at the Manchester cub scouts laughing at each others' jokes. How cute.
SantiSuk Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Squeaky bum time tonight. Can't see us keeping Barca from scoring at least one, so realistically we will have to score at least 3 to have any real chance in the return leg. Given our appalling chance conversion rate over the last two months (must be the worst in the Prem as we create so many) I can't see that happening myself.Six years failing to qualify beyond the last 16 - proof if proof were needed that the Wenger/Kroenke axis, indeed any axis involving the current owner, will never create a top 5 Europe team. I'll stick with it in case I'm wrong!
Chicog Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Well it's good that you're in a pessimistic mood because you can't be disappointed can you?
SantiSuk Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Always hopeful for a surprise Chicog. Olympiakos away was very nice. More of that please!
mrbojangles Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I think you need what is known as a "Spurs Start" tonight, otherwise known as a freebie penalty 1
Bredbury Blue Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I think you need what is known as a "Spurs Start" tonight, otherwise known as a freebie penalty ...or offside goal or two. 1
Chicog Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Screw that Santi I'll take the Bayern Munich (H) result!
Chicog Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I thought we were playing OK but then we just tried too hard to score when a clean sheet would have done me.All that good work to waste.Still, they can do a bit of duty free shopping in Catalonia in a couple of weeks, pocket the cash and move on.
SantiSuk Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 We are not moving on. We are moving backwards. It was an absolute tonking!
wellred Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Thought they did alright in the first half. Maybe had the British media not helped chase Suarez out of England yous lot might have actually had a chance tonight [emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chicog Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 We are not moving on. We are moving backwards. It was an absolute tonking! Whinge Whinge Whinge.
petermik Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 We are not moving on. We are moving backwards. It was an absolute tonking! Feeling bad SS...............after sundays game you will be suicidal
StevieH Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 We are not moving on. We are moving backwards. It was an absolute tonking! it was barcelona. quite possibly the best club side there's ever been. did you really expect to beat them?
jellydog Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Not a bad effort from Arsenal I thought. They had their chances and failed to convert then got caught on the counter. It happens. OTOH both the BFG and Flamini guilty as sin for that telling late PK from Messi. On a positive note for Arsenal no Pique for the return leg. I watch Barca a bunch and whenever they are without either Busquets or Pique they can really struggle defensively (more so without Busquets). Might not make much difference up 2-0 but you never know.
carmine Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I think you need what is known as a "Spurs Start" tonight, otherwise known as a freebie penalty Oh the bitterness!!!

Inevitable really and don't forget, at this stage of the competition Arsenal's bags are already packed. Was that penalty conceded a record even for Flamini?
alfieconn Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Fair play to the Goons that they didn't make excuses about injuries and playing in the FA Cup only 3 days ago

I suppose he figured some fresh defensive legs were in order, but Flamini against MSN ? Meat to wolves. 1
Chicog Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 We think the persistence with Flamini is down to him apparently about to become a multibillionaire.... https://www.dreamteamfc.com/c/arsenal-star-set-to-become-billionaire-through-secret-fuel-business/ Thought he got hung out to dry for the penalty though, and let's face it the first goal was extremely naive as well.
Bredbury Blue Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Anyone know if any channel has a rerun tonight? Channel/time?
