Questions re Chatuchak plants, places to bike and to read periodicals

Hello,

Could someone with recent experience pls tell me:

-- The plants section of Chatuchak is open Tues evenings till late, daytime Wed and Thurs, is that correct? Are any other sections of Chatuchak open during the week?

-- Aside from Railway Park by Morchit (too busy and crowded), are there any other places accessible by BTS or MRT where you can rent a bicycle and ride it in park-like surrounding?

-- Are there any libraries accessible by BTS or MRT where you can read newspapers and periodicals from abroad including New York Times? And libraries other than Nielson Hays with good collections of English-language books to borrow?

Thank you for your advice

@1.I think yes, but this remains TH and your western mind seems to be not yet adapted: never ever expect things here to run ''ever to schedule all the time''. The other section, depending on how you define Chat/market is the daily OToKo ''organic'' market and -if its still on-the 2nd hand mags/books section beside it, across Kampaeng Pet rd. and JJ Mall-has most things that the unknowing ignorant farang think to only buy on the market sat+sun. MBK also stocks most of that stuff-daily and in AC comfort.

@2. The park of the old Tobacco Monopoly, north of Sirikiti Exhib. Centre-MRT same name.

@3. dont think so-prestigious HTLs would be first to think of for esp. that newsppr-or online. Again: broaden your experience and start to learn using other means of transport (-ation likely for you).

On friday many shops on chatuchak market are open...don't know what the theme is that day...the weekend it's always open.

Wednesday and thursday there's plantmarket on chatuchak, but on Sanam Luang 2 (thonburi market) the plantdepartment is open every day and there are no cars driving over pedestrians there. In the weekend sanam luang 2 has many more shops open though (another department) but is very crowded, and there's no skytrain in the area.

Tuesdaynight i don't know about chatuchak, never been there.
