PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Thawornwat Kongkaew yesterday agreed to send a letter to Airports of Thailand (AoT) representatives who operate Phuket International Airport to ask them to resolve the issue of aircraft noise disturbing local residents.

This is going to be interesting! For once I have no idea how this problem could be solved,  Building walls like along Train tracks will surely not work.

The same should apply to Chiang Mai airport too.

The only way to give noise respite to nearby residents is a curfew and as tourism in Thailand is a huge money earner the chance of a curfew for HKT airport is nil.

All the other international gateway airports to Thailand don't have curfews as far as I know so for the nearby residents its move or put up with the noise.

Noise pollution in Thailand is never considered.

Phuket Airport has been open for 30 years. Isn't it a bit late to be complaining?
