Tourist police seem allergic to Soi Nana where there are so many happenings indoor & outdoor. How to get rid if they are so allergic to this Soi?

So What about illegal Thais like today u get hit in the rear of my Suzuki swift so hard it pushed me into a fortuna  who went into the back of a pick up . most likely on the i phone .  i have all the legal documents licence insurance ect . he has no insurance . after spending 4 hrs in the police station all i get is 10.000b he walks  and has 1 week to pay . 

So i ask is having no insurance illegal or legal any one know ? by the way the cars is a right off

You have insurance so you put it in their hands and it is up to them to fix your car or pay you out and for them to chase the offending driver. The only insurance that you must have is the compulsory 3rd party insurance that you must produce to be able to register your car. In Australia we call it TAC 3rd party insurance and it is separate to comprehensive accident insurance. It is not illegal to not have comprehensive accident insurance, that is to pay for the damage to your car but it is up to your comprehensive accident insurance company to pay for your car and for them to claim against the other driver

The problem?  More paperwork.  Invasive checks on where you are living.  Hassles on the street as police ask for papers and passports and visas, while you only have copies.  Many ways a proper person can be at the least inconvenienced

The problem for me would be I don't carry my passport around with me in my day to day life here bumping over the rough roads of Pattaya! I fear losing it.... I keep some pics on my phone. But the reality is I have never been asked for it in the many years I have been here. Let us hope it doesn't get as bad as you envisage.

I tried the website of the Tourist Police to get an idea of what they envisage is their remit, but I can't read Thai.

USA, UK, AUS, Canada, Central & South America, would you be inconvenienced to a lesser degree? I think not and chances at a long term visa would be far more expensive and difficult if not impossible. Stop all the complaining and embrace the fact Thailand welcomes law abiding folks from across the globe while at the same time attempts to cull out those who do not abide and make problems for all of us, Thai and farang alike. It is a balancing act Thailand does pretty well compared to most other countries. Does " Build that Wall " ring a bell ?

I must be from an alternate universe. If you are an immigrant from another country it goes without saying you need to carry and produce paperwork verifying you are legal. It also is required to understand and abide by the laws and terms of your visa . That's the deal from the jump, it is what you agreed to when you entered the country. If you no longer wish to abide to the agreement you made when you entered Thailand there are many international airports from which you can depart. I can't even understand the point you are trying to make. It's almost like reasoning with a 5 year old.

i could have applied for thai citizenship years ago. never bothered as don't want to be thai. you think that you should produce paperwork on the street? in 20 years not once have i been asked. keep photos of passport page and visa on phone but never been asked to produce. if they ever did, i would probably leave

**well use that as an excuse to leave with my mrs who can't accept that HCMC is soon to be home ; )

I never complained.  I simply listed some things that might happen.  And as for the build that wall thing, well, I didn't vote for Trump so don't generalized anybody else's behavior to anybody else
