Phuket psychologist

Featured Replies

Hello,

Looking for a foreigner psychologist who practices in Phuket. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I think you will struggle to find a non Thai psychologist in Phuket.   Out of curiosity, I Googled it, and came up with:

I do know that virtually all of the Doctors at Bangkok Hospital Phuket have good to excellent English if it's communication that you're concerned about.

They are too quick to prescribe meds.
They will lump you with all sorts of treatments because big pharmaceuticals pay doctors to prescribe their drugs.

The system here is very similar to the U.S.
Doctors are rewarded for prescribing by companies.

Beware of psych doctors here. They are rogue when it comes to medicating.

Doubt you'll find any non-Thai medical professionals in this field here.  Many of the Thai doctors in Bangkok Hospital Phuket are trained in the US, and some are certainly good IMO.  The link mentioned above is for Bangkok Hospital Mental Health Center, and they have a number of clinicians practising there.  Probably the best help you'll find here in Phuket.

Only my opinion, but sadly mental health area here in LOS is decades behind what you'll find in most first-world countries.
