The UKVI now specifically advise against including photographs with the supporting documents for visa applications.

That really surprises me as photos are one of the best forms of evidence. We must have sent at least 20 to 30 in showing our times together in Thailand when I was holidaying here 3 times a year. Wonder why they have changed their minds.

@Discover in my humble opinion the your supporting letter is full of waffle, the ECO will most likely speed read it and may well miss any salient points you're trying to make.   Let's go bac

The main interest of the UK authorities is whether or not there is a risk of her remaining in the UK. So they need to have details of her ties to Thailand and reason(s) to return to her own country. T

If that is the case you will need to prove it.

If it is not the case I advise to not mention it. Lies, if discovered, will mean the application will be rejected and future ones more difficult.

I was successful in my first application but that was some 6 years ago and I believe the current situation has changed. I placed emphasis on proving we both had things to come back to in Thailand, my 'wife' had reasons to return to Thailand (land owned), and some money, and I had the finances to support her in the UK.

Good luck.

mine was a long time ago as you'll know if you read the thread

That's a extremely fair point! That's what gf told me, but can she back this up?!!

Back to rewriting this again with all the advise given above.

Cheers

There is no reason why you can’t request a month as she will be granted a six month visa if it's successful. Staying longer is fine as long as she has a valid reason and explains why in the next visa application. Unless she has a very good employer I would stick with a month. Her employer will need to confirm all the details in a phone and they can sometimes be reluctant to do that.

Coaching her in what has been put in the application is crucial because she might get a call from the ECO and she will need to confirm information that you have used in the application. I typed all the relevant info onto a card and my then GF's had it with her all the time she was expecting a call so she could refer to it if she was called.

She never got one but many applicants do and that phone call, if the applicant flaps, (often because they weren't expecting a call), can mean the difference between a visa and a refusal. It happened on here recently where the sponsor didn't tell his girlfriend that she might get a call and she went to pieces and her visa was refused.
