Whats the traffic going to be like in Pats this Fri 20th after songrkan?

Featured Replies

If Im catching a long distance bus into Pats Friday 20th April assuming that 19th is the last day of Songkran, will there be traffic jams. The bus would arrive on the upper road around 5pm. Is it all back to normal then?

thanks

You should be fine by that time coming into Pattaya  any traffic would be going the other way back to Bangkok  and the water throwers  all dried out.

Is anything ever normal in Thailand?

Already answered in the Pattaya Songkran FAQ.

Q: How's travel on the 20th?
A: If it's a workday, Sukhumvit should be normal but around town traffic will be worse as a lot of people will need to go shopping. If it's on a Sunday, traffic will likely be worse than for a usual holiday weekend because many of the arrivals will probably be out shopping, too.

Excellent answer....maybe in the high tech future, people could enter a search term for the FAQ and have the info pop up, as some may be be too lazy to go thru an entire FAQ.

But then they'd be too lazy to type CTRL-F to show the search box. And then too lazy to type '2-0-t-h' and press ENTER.

Unfortunately the IPB message board editor used by the TVF forum would strip out any added inline javascript from a post even if it permitted a source code view. A hot key would probably use at least two keys anyway to avoid possible conflicts, so no real advantage over CTRL-F. Telepathy, no hope. Best might be to insist members complete a tutorial before they access content. Weed out most of the trolls that way too.

I will also be on the normal bus back to Pattaya on the 20th , so you should be more worried about that than the traffic.

As it's Friday you could get some congestion from the BKK crowd coming back to Patts after time up country, relaxing in there condos enjoying the cool sea breezes

Normal service will have resumed

  • All vehicles will occupy the correct lane, observe the speed limit and drive in the right direction.
  • Traffic police will be out in force upholding the law to the letter
  • Taxi drivers will one again be the epitome of respectability and benevolence
  • Amulets will be replaced by seat belts

Welcome to Pattaya, Naniaburi, Thailand
