Ex-Playboy model released from deal not to discuss alleged Trump affair

Newly-named Playboy Playmate of the Year Karen McDougal poses with Playboy magazine founder and editor in chief Hugh Hefner May 28 at ceremonies held at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, Ca.The Indiana native will be featured in the July issue of the magazine.

(Reuters) - Former Playboy model Karen McDougal reached an agreement on Wednesday with tabloid publisher American Media Inc that will allow her to speak freely about an affair she alleges she had with President Donald Trump, the company said in a statement.

McDougal filed suit in California last month seeking to be released from a deal reached in 2016 with AMI, publisher of the National Enquirer, that gave the company exclusive rights to her story in exchange for $150,000.

"AMI is pleased that we reached an amicable resolution with Ms. McDougal today that provides both sides what they wanted as a result," the company said in a statement.

Representatives for McDougal did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Under the deal, AMI said it would have the right to receive up to $75,000 of any future profits from the sale of her story about the alleged 10-month affair, which she says started in 2006.

McDougal will also appear on the September 2018 cover of Men's Journal magazine, which will include a feature-length article about her, the company said.

In an interview with CNN that aired last month, McDougal said she was in love with Trump and the affair started not long after his wife, Melania, gave birth to their son, Barron.

The White House has said that Trump denies having an affair with McDougal.

AMI has said McDougal was permitted to speak about her relationship with Trump in response to "legitimate press inquiries."

McDougal had argued in her lawsuit that the agreement was an illegal corporate donation from AMI to the Trump campaign that violated federal election law.

American Media head David Pecker has described Trump as a "personal friend."

Trump has been engaged in a legal battle with adult-film actress Stormy Daniels, who says she had a one-night stand with Trump in 2006.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has sued Trump and his lawyer Michael Cohen to be released from a 2016 agreement not to publicly discuss the alleged sexual encounter in exchange for $130,000.

The White House has denied that Trump had sex with Daniels.

National Enquirer buys and 'kills' story of Trump sex scandal in run-up to election.

The real story here is breach of 'Election Law', be assured AMI are not yet off the hook, but don't let that stop you enjoying the immediate spectacle of Trump squirming as this hits the news.

I remember a time you could (almost) believe statements issued by the White House. Not so sure I believe these two though.

I am sure her story will make interesting reading regardless.

I hope the truth was not that far back in the annals of the USA presidency.

Name a President with a libido that did not take full advantage of their position to get what they wanted? Anyone in the Bush family does not count. Dont you think that the man will have enough problems with his wife now that it is out? She did not moralise as she got her knickers off did she. She did not refuse the money and say, how dare you, I knew the man was married but I loved him enough not to squeal like the pig I am. She just believes she can get more money for the seedy story because he since became President. Gold diggers.

I personally don't give a toss about the past sex  history of POTUS.

I do care a lot about his ease of lying about it.

..he's evolving into his own weapon of mass destruction.

With all due respect, would you please restate your post  while explaining your leanings?

Do you feel the lady in question has done wrong and POTUS is in the right?

Kindly share your thoughts among friends.

Sex is fun and normal. Even politicians like sex.  If he had simply said yes I had sex with the pornstar I would have a higher opinion of him. But he thought he had to lie about it to get the religious right votes. For that choice he will pay the price.
