Multiple Entry Tourist (3x60) Running Out While Waiting For Work Permit

Featured Replies

hello all

i have a very urgent question. i'm running now on the last term of my multiple entry tourist visa (3x60). mid-march, my visa expires.

i've applied for a work permit through my future employer. but today, they told me, that it is not sure to get the work permit by mid-march. so, it's a really urgent question (because i've rented a house to end of april, and so on): may i apply for another visa (30 or 60 days) or a multiple entry visa?

or do i have to go out of thailand by mid-march. what can i do. i'm really frustrated, because here in phuket, nobody can tell me how it is.

please give me a hint.

thanks to all.

Wonder whether your future employer meets the requirements for an employers to get workpermits for a foreign employee. Among the many required documents to be attached any application for a workpermit is this item: "A valid passport containing a Non-Immigrant visa"... Since your future employer doesn't know this by now it's very likely he hasn't even tried to file an WP-application for you.

I'd suggest you hire a lawyer to help you out.

I cannot tell you anything about workpermits or whatsoever. But what I do know is that you can apply at your local immgr office to turn your touristvisa into a non-O immgr, but you have to have your paperwork in order.

if you have got a recommendation from your future employer and perhaps some money on the bank ,maybe you will have a chance. But indeed, you could go to a lawyer,or sunbelt asia, for sure can tell you how the rules are or/and what you need.Or just go to immgr yourself, but big chance they will let you do all your paperwork, wich can be time consuming.Time will tell.
