Hottest day of the year so far...

Featured Replies

Plenty of early rain and no record temperatures this year.

Just checked: 29.4 C at 13:00h for us.

Another night without AC and that in May!

27 degrees in my condo today. Just like every other day. I suspect that the air-con may have something to do with that.

just out of interest, how one has to understand weather apps telling us the temperature is 36, but "real feel" is 44 (OOOOPPSS) as it happened in BKK in late April? What does determine the "real feel" ?

It's from the heat index, which factors in the relative humidity.  Think of what happens when putting water over hot stones in a sauna. The temperature doesn't change, but it feels very much hotter.

Here's a good explanation:

That's why a temperature reading without a humidity reading is quite useless. When I adjust my aircon thermostats I take into consideration the humidity to determine what temperature I'll set.
