Not exactly. The guy tried to buy his girlfriend so as to keep her, he only has himself to blame. Older does not necessarily mean wiser. I find it difficult to have sympathy for these types of guys, but RIP nevertheless.

Not really. Not many girl bars near where I lived in London, not like here. He married a prostitute all I'm saying is "they never learn" and it is my, and many others observation, that Thais are uninterested in ethics far more than 'normal' people in the west. But you are going off topic.

Amazing Thailand, white folk come here to look down on the locals.

Whites aren't any better than Asians, just a different culture, if anything the Thais are more honest IMHO.

 

Mr. 68 had a gf he loved, probably more than he ever had in Wales.

It ended badly, but then relationships with women almost always end badly, that's how life works.

When I first came to Thailand, the word soon got round there's a new boy on the block. 2 Farlangs who decided to befriend me tried to sell me some crap plots of land that belonged to their wives for extortionate amounts. Another one, an English guy, tried to talk me into investing 1 million baht with some corrupt lawyer `s get rich quick scheme. That lawyer ended up serving time for conning people out of millions of bahts. The only difference between Farlang confidence tricksters and Thai confidence tricksters, is that the Farlangs do things on a bigger scale.

 

At least with the Thais, they`re the devil I know.

In the US, a Thai spouse won't get social security unless she had lived in the US for five years at least.

Under totalization treaty, foreign spouse of 25 countries will get spousal social security even if they have never set foot in the US.

Spousal social security is 50% of husband's social security payment and it starts at age 62. The spouse does not have to die for the other spouse to start getting social security and  even an unmarried divorced spouse get spousal benefits if married for at least five years.
