VIDEO: Quite possibly the worst bit of driving you will see

He probably saved 90 seconds off his ride home by going the wrong way.

Up to me.

Simple. Ordinary. Common Thai driver.

I.Q. over 70 in Thailand no have.

I've seen this many times when people swerve too sharply at speed and then have to overcompensate by steering the opposite way which loses control of the vehicle. The knee-jerk reaction is to stand on the brakes which just makes matters worse. Once the vehicle had stopped the driver needs to think clearly and get the vehicle to a safe place asap before the situation gets worse. The time to hyperventilate is when everyone is in a safe position and not when you are stationary facing the wrong way in the fast lane. Lucky it didn't end more seriously. The only way to safely exit this situation is to pass as close to the oncoming vehicle as possible even if it means sideswiping or forcing them into the central reservation. You also have to remember your speed is magnified by the speed of the oncoming vehicle so you cannot afford to make severe maneuvers in a diminishing time frame.

But the pick-up towards the end is not 'the one', he will have fled. - Mind you, real bad driving is in countries like Turkey. If you haven't seen it, go to YT, then type mobese and send!

Normal madness here.
Or a (not UK) foreigner on holidays. 555
But a good lesson for the "victim" not only to stay on the right lane as well ???

Quote from the OP... it is not known if the incident was reported to the police.

What would be the point of that?

Police would do nothing about it, many times police vehicles are driven exactly like in the video.

It probably was a policeman at the wheel. Just forgot he was off duty.

BAU (Business As Usual)

Way too much panic; women driving; staying in wrong lane; etc etc

I have seen a LOT worse driving than this; this is nothing!

Incredible.

Love the way some people criticise the innocent party.

Always try to avoid the third lane; if you must drive at all then go slowly.

So who was the worst driving comment about? The idiot driving the wrong way, or the one who can't make a little swerve, without losing control?

No, that was a highly skilled maneuver.  The oncoming vehicle caused him to believe he was going the wrong way and so made the correction.

Absolutely... There was no reason for him to spin there !!

Just lack of basic driving and observation skills....

Two women in the camera car which is driving pretty fast.

White pick-up driver on the wrong side needs a 5 year ban and 6-12 months in jail plus a BIG fine, if they find whoever it was.

The truck the camera car pulled up next to must be eye witnesses, but I doubt they got the registration number.

It is indeed horrific but not that unusual.

Another day on Thai roads.

Surely  you can do better than the "go home brigade". I think you win in the pathetic  response contest

I've seen much worse. Once I saw a concrete mixer pass a truck crossing over a double yellow line in a two lane hwy and force me to go in a ditch on my motorbike.  This is typical driving in The Land of S......

I can go one better, a pick up with  what must have been a 25+foot  scaffold  pole waiting at a  U turn on the Phetkasem 3  lane road with the pole completely covering the outside lane at 90degrees, no need for this at all but he's decided to get at right angles to the other carriageway instead of staying inline with the road then making the turn later. would have decapitated any car  driver

I was in the outside lane at the time and no 360 was required to avoid it.

Also once had what must have been a  diesel spill on the road which was interesting, but after a  couple of lock to locks it was  corrected. Still go the video of that somewhere.

I have seen many inexperienced drivers lock up their brakes and do a turn around.

In Canada during the Winter it happens a lot when the drivers hit a patch of ice, then

start sliding, they lock the brakes and do 280s, 360s and beyond. This lady driver is

lucky that there was not more traffic and was not hit by anyone else. She drove the

wrong way just to get where she could get off the road. I guess some commenters

are cool headed experts from the comfort of their computer chairs and I bet they

wouldn't do any better in an unfamiliar situation, except in their minds of course.

The driver in the Pickup going the wrong way caused this situation, I guess some

people forgot that fact, or are somehow trying to justify why that pickup was going the

wrong way.

Anyone ever heard the saying " They should have the book thrown at them" when somebody really does something stupid on the roads and endangers somebody. Well if you said that to a cop here they would throw the book alright but it probably is a porn book or cartoon book. The cops would look at that video and think its funny

Total normal expectable behaviour on the roads of Thailand

Seen every day, in every Town, City and Provence, the only difference is,

if its a Car or Bike or a Truck.

why is this news ?

It's one more three minute hero posting stuff on the internet

pretending to be shocked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.  :coffee1:

This isn't even close to being the worst driving I've seen. It's is widespread across Thailand. Road fatalities are higher than any other country b/c of the abhorrent way Thais operate vehicles. They are not "drivers."

Just never realised how many perfect people make comments on this forum. Regardless of how  imperfect the drivers accident avoidance was . The total idiot on the wrong carriageway was 100 per cent to blame. Maybe one day something will totally shock some of the posters then they will be able to see how Perfect they are in an emergency. But we won't know because they will catch the Asian loss of face problem.

A bit off topic but justified I think.

I guess most people who post video assume the entire world embraces Fakebook.

this is not true of people who treasure their privacy.

For the record, once again, :Please

post usable links to video for us throwbacks who do not and never will have a FakeBook account.

And for those that say this can be accessed without an account I ask:

Please tell me how.

Thats  luck, nothing else, no arthritic knees here and at least the brain still functions also, unlike some.

"Worst piece of driving I'll see?"

More like "Just another everyday example of driving in Thailand."

There should be zero tolerance of driving the wrong way, not one metre, starting with the cops.

Damn, you beat me to it - well I guess I was going to state the obvious :cheesy::coffee1:
