Yes, it's interesting to note that the E-verify system which 8 states use to verify the legal status of workers that was so widely touted by Trump for adoption by the Federal Government had made zero progress at the federal level since Trump got elected.

No, it was just the one imagining that Trump would have an avenue to get Mexico to pay for the wall. ie. via Taxes. I can't imagine any other way.

There is one way "the wall" (more or less, mostly less) might actually get built. If "trump" says he will sign a clean DACA bill in exchange for funding his big EGO wall, then that would pass congress. But he's made it clear that's not good enough for him. He needs all his racist, fascist general anti LEGAL immigration package as well. So the smart money is on NEVER. Not even going mention the Mexico part. "trump" doesn't even believe in that insane demand. He made that clear in a conversation with the Mexican leader. He just wanted some empty LIP SERVICE from Mexico not defying him to preserve his face, nothing actually REAL. Mexico of course refused to play his game and good on them for that. The whole wall B.S. issue is just for red meat for his rabid RACIST base. 

 

The stupid part of all this is that there is massive bipartisan support for beefing up border security in sane ways short of the not great ego "trump" literal wall. That would include repairing existing walls and fences, building limited new ones in tactical areas (mostly urban), funding staff, and of course improved technology for a "virtual" wall. But that's too sensible for the demagogue. He couldn't milk something sensible to his racist base.

No.  You didn't understand the poster you quoted.  He (and many others) are saying that IF an import tax is levied on Mexican goods, that tax will have to be paid for by the Americans who would be buying those imports.  That's a pretty straightforward observation.

That's an evil idea but it sounds like the kind of thing that "trump" supporters would cheer for at his fascist style rallies. The US and Mexico aren't at war so sorry landmines are probably out. In any case the people crossing that border already know they're risking their lives because of the extreme desert conditions in many areas.
