Former Thai PMs Thaksin Shinawatra and his sister Yingluck pictured in Washington D.C. on Wednesday The Thai authorities have said that they are still pursuing fugitive ex premier Yingluck Sinawatra. This came as Interpol have refused to issue a Blue Notice saying the case is politically motivated. A Blue Notice is to "locate, identify or obtain information on a person of interest in a criminal investigation" according to the official Interpol website. Spokesman Krissana Patanacharoen said that despite the refusal the Thai authorities were at liberty to make their own representations to try and track down Yingluck. Krissana said that was the intention of national police chief Chakthip Chaijinda who has ordered that no stone is left unturned to bring Yingluck back to Thailand. She fled last year as she was sentenced to jail over the rice pledging scandal. Krissana confirmed that Yingluck has been granted a ten year visa by the UK that allows her unlimited stays of six month duration. He did not know on what passport the visa was issued but said it was definitely not a Thai one. He said that representations were to be made to the UK authorities to locate the whereabouts of Yingluck in the UK. A reasonable court and/or neutral body, outside of the malicious and malignant influence of Article 44 and the Thai army, has said that the case is "politically motivated". We were ridiculed, berated and insulted at the time. The anti democratic supporters argued that the perception of "political motivation" was a lie. Now the issue is again center stage, except this time it is actually made public in Thailand. This is why former PM Thaksin travels wherever he wishes and why the former PM Yingluck is treated with sympathy and free to go wherever she wishes. The military administration made the two ino into political martyrs. and perpetuated the ongoing political divide. Politically motivated by most definitions would meant an act carried out in the interest of certain government or political party.
