BobBKK
Thailand's greatest premier and Thailand first female premier deserve their break from the cesspit that is politics in Thailand. Neither were perfect and one was very greedy but no more than the others. I don't know a Thai who does not look back fondly to those days, happier times, times when they were better off than living under the Army rule. The whole world knows the truth and they can travel freely and will always remind us of the injustice and hypocrisy that thrives in the Land of Guiles. They were no angels, just part of the rotten 'system' that carries on until this day. I wish them well and hope Thailand gets truth and honesty from the upcoming youth that is pressing against the Junta dinosaurs door.

Nickymaster
The Shins are disgusting human beings. Many of their people died or are in jail because of them. Some people here on TV have no clue about what they have done to Thailand. Anyhow, most important is that these corrupters will never come back to Thailand.

But the Students, the new democracy protesters, and many former Shin voters who aren't under the easily influenced by red shirt areas, are no longer fooled by the Shin lies. Some of their old allies are maybe also seeing the writing on the wall and seeking new alliances. But Yingluck has no charges to face, she has a conviction and jail term. Thaksin also faces a jail term and then those outstanding cases. He won't face any of that so the only way back is through amnesty. Don't see that happening anytime soon. And all this "look at us, look how rich and carefree we are" BS has the chance to turn negative. Reading your posts on this matter... Interesting, but here is something for you to ponder. My wife said only this morning if either of the Shins came back, and there was an election, they would be voted back in with a landslide majority. 2
Happyman58
Must be nice traveling around the USA on money they stole from the Thai people? Then again they are not the first politician from Thailand to do that and won't be the last? The mob in power now are even worse. Its LittleP: and his forty thieves. But if I could vote I still vote for her She is the best looking P.M. I have ever seen say compared to Angela Merkel Wonder if they went to see Obama He has a huge crush on her. Whereas the people may have had enough of Shin kleptocracies and watching to the two fugitive billionaire fraudsters living it up in their private jet and hiso lifestyle. The new parties may do better than anyone thinks. Whether they'll be any different is another matter. Would this be a good occasion to mention that one of the main drivers of the coup was to forestall the election, arguably because the Shinewatras party was on course to win. Oddly enough the same was true of the previous coup. Of course the reluctance of the current regime to hold an election unfortunately (and I am sure this is an unintended consequence) prevents us from testing the hypothesis that popular support has turned away from the Shinewatras... 5

And I doubt that Little P. is thinking of these two very much. He simply wants them to stay away from Thailand. That is all. Despite protestations to the contrary. Nobody in Thailand is making any effort to extradite them. Nobody.

Not for you an obsession with the Shins.... no you post on threads concerning them in a moderate and level headed way. So I feel it is fair to ask you... as an expert on Thai politics.... if Thaksin and Yingluck are 'fugitives' why are they able to travel the world... meet interesting and powerful people, without being apprehended by Interpol? Could it be the case that the politically motivated charges and convictions against the Shins carry no weight in 'the real world'. I am sure there will be another thread, coming soon on TV forum that will provide a showcase for Thaksin and Yingluck and I await your further, moderate and well reasoned comments on it. Interpol does not apprehend anyone. They have no powers of arrest. They only inform. Basically, they "Rat you Out".
Popular Post Telly
Whenever a Shin thread comes up I am amaze at how fast the anti shin trolls start firing from the hips. Even though their posts are like in the hundreds or thousands, after a while of reading, you realise the language idiosyncrasies are highly similar. I'm sure thaksin is not pure white and neither is the sister. But then, is anybody? It is however also very true, if they come back tomorrow and go for elections the next day, that they would win overwhelmingly. Fair and square, without the brown envelope. It sucks but this is democracy Thai style. 2

Very droll; but thought provoking for those of us in Thailand. But, I'd like to know where the Shins get their somtam. And do they drink coffee or tea. It's not until questions such as these are answered that the picture will be completed; so to speak. As for Ch-o-ch and Little Toad (notice the capital letters to show respect); they still haven't sussed out why the Shins are so loved and they are just tolerated. Popular Post sjaak327
Indeed they are Colin. All as bad as one another. And that's the point. But some like to pretend the Shins aren't.Actually. I believe precious few would deny Thaksin is a crook, the point that is so often lost is that not only did he secure a solid mandate, he was at any point in time subjected and accountable to the electorate and the Thai constitution. And he would have to secure yet another mandate at least every four years. This exchange began with you claiming there is one set of laws for the rich, and another one for the rest of us. That notion is probably wrong as I fail to see how the two would not be allowed into the United States. Being convicted by a Thai court, abd under these circumstances means absolutely nothing outside of Thailand. For a classic example of someone literally above the law, one needs to look inside Thailand. Strange how you never seem to take issue with that... Sent from my SM-J730GM using Tapatalk
