Over 50 percent of respondents to Suan Dusit Poll believe that the post-election government will be democratic, represent the people and perform better than the previous governments.

However, 42.30 percent of the respondents of the same poll believe that there won’t be changes for the better because the same old politicians will get elected into the parliament with the country still divided with colour politics.

Dusit Poll surveyed the opinions of 1,130 respondents during June 5-9 about their political interests. Election ranks top of their political issue of interest followed by the performance of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha government and new political parties.

Combine all these matters of public interest, and it's like binge-watching a DVD box set of the Jurassic Park movies.

You mean like... "First there'll be a lot of 'ooh' and 'aah', but later there's running... and screaming"?

Or... "Life will find a way"?

The next government will be better... well, that's an easy one, isn't it? If the next government is a civilian one, it will be "better" by default.

Whether it also will be less inept, less corrupt and less self-serving than the current one is an entirely different question. Although I do have a good hunch that it won't.

But at least they could be voted out if such an election happens. That is at least a start.

BINGO! I have the vague idea in whose office this motivational photo in a gold plated frame may hang:

It is surely not on TV that you will find any, so much so that one could believe it is forbidden, ..but it is only unpopular...

“Asked what they expect from the election, 34.26 percent say they expect to have the right of political participation; 31.98 percent expect Thailand to be more recognized internationally with the election; and 27.66 percent say they will have a new government”

Depressingly low expectations.

Even so, they will probably be disappointed at what they do eventually get...

No surprise, many people did inform themselves about the content of the new constitution and how it prevent democracy from functioning.
