Scary story. Does anyone know what kind of mandatory passenger insurance taxi´s in Thailand have?  And how can one spot, if the insurance is valid or expired, before entering the taxi?

what insurance???!!!

My guess is the proper answer is it will be some elapsed time on whether there is any permanent eye damage....

i don't fall these unknown too optimistic predictions....

Ahhh, the dangers of vanity.

"he woman was expected to make a full recovery with no lasting damage to her eye, doctors said."
That's good to hear considering that picture looks horrific.

Any form of public transportation here can become a moving coffin if you are in a unlucky day ! So take extra care always....

I can only say this is a very lucky woman.

A good reason to obey the law and wear a seat belt at all times !

Yes, sometimes staying beautiful has its price..... Fortunately she wasn't on her phone but maybe she isn't one of those smartphone-using zombies as reported in an article here 4 days ago!! Imagine what could have happened to her then! Hope she recovers from it though.

Yeah, right! She was probably using her smartphone in "mirror" mode and talking on it at the same time while applying the eyeliner. Anyway, what are the odds she'll change her makeup-application MO in the future? ?

At least she can say now “you had to see it to believe it”?

In any case, she is faulty, not driver ; when moving , anywhere, never do anything near your eyes

Sure ?  not the driver's fault ?  He didn't keep safety distance to the pickup in front of him and didn't pay attention to what happened right infront of his nose. Not at fault... tss tss tss...

Even if the driver didn't keep safety distance , moving car is not a place to have a sharp object near your eyes : you have to expect everything ; I can tell you it will never happen with me
